Joomla 4.0 Alpha 3 is available for testing. The main purpose of this Alpha release is to provide third party developers with the basis to test their extensions and reporting any issues well before the final release.
Joomla 4.0 Alpha 3 includes almost of the Joomla Core library changes that will be included in version 4.0.0. Some of these changes will require small changes to extensions.

Release Plan
- At the beginning of the 3rd quarter 2018: Beta 1 - feature freeze
- At the end of the 3rd quarter 2018: Release Candidate 1
- At the end of 2018: Stable Release
These timelines are subject to change based on a wide variety of issues and concerns as well as on the availability of volunteers.
