Continuing with Joomla 4 release candidate, Joomla 4 RC 6 and Joomla 3.10 RC 2 are available. You can try and test the package for the forthcoming 4.0 and 3.10 quality assurance as well as discovering the new features introduced in these major releases.
Going from 3.9 to 4.0 is a migration, you would need to upgrade your J3.9 to J3.10, which will be available the day J4.0 is stable. J3.10 has a compatibility checker to help guide you through the migration to J4.0. For detail, please follow our tutorial How to Migrate Joomla 3 to Joomla 4.
